Giants On Pace To Make Franchise History

Less than a year earlier, the fans and the NY media calling for the head of Tom Coughlin. We have heard names such as Charlie Weiss (How does this year's ND while Charlie? "), Bill Cowher, Bill Parcells and several others. Now Tom Coughlin will be done for this team, not since Parcells was the coach of the last century to do.

Upon completion of the elections on Sunday and chalk a victory over the Lions are the New York Giants at the edge of doing something this franchise has not done in avery long time, go to the playoffs three consecutive years.

Include holding a 7-3, staring at a Viking's opponents, who can get about as inconsistent franchise, the Giants really control their own destiny.

Over the next 6 weeks, the Giants schedule is as follows:

. vs. Minnesota (4-6)

Chicago (4-6)

Philadelphia (5-5)

. vs. Washington (5-5)

at Buffalo (5-5)

. vs. New England (10000 - 0)

Of course, a bitjoke about the Pats, but you get the point. For now can say that the Pats game is a loss (although I think they will win that one). Each of the other remaining 5 games are very winnable, and two against teams they have already beaten, in Philadelphia and Washington.

By the end of the season, the Giants could easily 12-4. Now, in most seasons, that would account for a first place, and in 2000, that the value was # 1 seed in the conference. However, as Dallas andGreen Bay play (two teams who have already beaten), the Giants, the division and the 1st Adopt round went pretty much out the window before 2 weeks, when the Giants, the Cowboys lost at home.

If we except the Giants record this season when they beat the dirty water in the NFL and the struggle against good teams, then this team is undoubtedly would end 12-4.

With the announcement of Kiwianuka now out for the year and Jacobs will be one week to week basis, how muchthese injuries affect the Giants to go forward? Without doubt, the larger of the two losses Kiwianuka. The Giants lost a really good pass rusher and the Giants pass rush is what hides the secondary they have mediocre.

Jacobs is no great loss, because if you remember, he went early in the season, and Ward was able to do in step and a very nice job. However, the Giants have not have that luxury to go further, since Ward is also out. In steps Mr. Droughns. Giants GMJerry Reese is now looking like a genius for the trade that sent never seen WR Tim Carter to the Browns for Droughns. Droughns will fill in nicely, and with rookie 7th round draft choice, Ahmad Bradshaw showing his speed last Sunday, he will definitely give the running game a nice lift as well.

Regardless of injuries, the fact remains, this Giants team like last year's team, controls its own destiny. If they fulfill their destiny, come season's end, they will have made history and Coach Coughlin is certainly a nice addition to get.
