Understanding football makes it more fun to watch. The men I for most of my football-watching had been around in the game usually too embarrassed to explain how to play it. I have a lot first of my roommate who knew a lot of football because her brother played in high school and college. I've learned more than I married my first husband, from Total Immersion that in our house started with the annual draft and put through training camp, pre-, regular andPost-season play. Spreads over / under, the preference was violated, who would win and why, as the Dolphins have in the past season, what their prospects in the next season - it was talking all year about football.
My ex-husband agrees with Dolphin Digest, reads The Sporting News, visited watches all the games on television, Dolphin games (and strip those who read will be televised), and newspaper, whichever is the best sports coverage. When I was in Fort Lauderdale, a group of guys(Don, Rick, Gary, Arun, and Russ, and occasionally Ron, Chuck, John, and Carl) would see the games in our house. (And yes, they did so for college games.) Luckily, I enjoyed the game, and much to be learned about everything.
Football should be understood to be an easy game. Run the ball, throw the ball, kick the ball score. One hour and 12 minutes later, the team with the most points wins. Not quite. Add Players to perform amazing feats of athleticism PlayersError factor in rules and regulations, injuries, timeouts, commercials, and now you have a football game.
Football fundamentals are, as the result. There's nothing like an exciting game either, because there is little defense, and the high-scoring game, or because the defense is so good, and it's low-scoring. Both make for exciting games.
The offensive is the team with the ball trying to score points. The quarterback is usually handed the ball from the middle, it snapsto him; then the quarterback hands it off to a runner, or throws it to a pass receiver. Their goal is to go down the field and score points, while avoiding losing the ball to the other team (called a turnover).
The defense is the team trying to prevent the offense from scoring. They can try to force a turnover, tackle the player with the ball (if the player is the quarterback, and he's tackled while still holding the ball, it's called a "sack"), or intercept a pass. If a defensive Player catches the ball, or another is palpable, and the ability to run back into the end zone and score, this is called defensive scoring, or points on defense.
